I never thought I'd buy food from a truck but...

... I recently had the chance when my school celebrated the opening of the new Student Recreation Center. From Fresh Fries, The Grilled Cheese Truck to Kogi- there was a variety of goodness to choose from. However, I knew from the get-go I wanted to try Kogi. I remember watching Food Network and if I remember correctly it was Best Thing I Ever Ate (Love that show!) and Adam was raving about the Kogi taco and it looked amazing. Basically, it's Korean-Mexican fusion and while I know very little about Korean food, I was more than happy to try it. So when I found out they would be at my school I jumped at the chance and they did not disappoint.

kogi  burritto- YUM
I asked the guy taking my order what was in it and between the clanking noises from the kitchen (he is in a truck after all) and the chatter of the long line of students behind me, I got nothing. So I ask the one question that matters most to me when it comes to burritos-"does it have beans?" I'm happy to report that it does not. Call me a faux foodie all you want but the only beans I eat are garbanzos.

I made my order and I only waited a minute or two and my name was called out and I was handed a glorious, chunky burrito. I took one bite and understood what all the fuss was about.

Now you know when you eat something good and you're just anticipating the next time you get to it? this was it for me. I wish they had a local shop because the timing of the truck is not exactly convenient BUT I know I'll be checking their site for the next time they are in my neck of the woods.

Have you ever tried food from a food truck? What was your experience? Recommendations please! :)

Smile When you Dance

Once a week I go to my modern dance class and I love it. I have a great instructor who is both helpful but not intimidating (sometimes that's hard to find in a dance instructor!) so I love each class. Today we had our exam and I did far better than expected ( 91/2 out of 10) but she said my energy was lacking. That's when I realized how sometimes we get so caught up in the craziness of life that we don't really enjoy the moment even though you feel like you're really focusing. My technique was clean but clearly I wasn't performing. So after class I walked home listening to Patty Griffin because her voice is soothing which was perfect with the the cool evening breeze. When I got home I just sat on the front steps and took a moment to breathe and clear my mind. Sometimes that break, that moment of solitude is all we need.

I wasn't this exuberant. via Pinterest

Enjoy!

What do you do for stress relief? While I love dancing and reading, I have to say a brisk evening walk with my ipod really does the trick.

to dye for

I really want to dye my hair. I'm going through that phase most women go through where they need something different and changing your look is relatively easy. I've been considering different shades and products but so far I haven't had the chance to try anything. I experimented with with Garnier Herbashine but the color didn't really stand out since I'm a brunette so back to square one.

I LOVE Angelina's hair color but I know I'd need a professional to get it to look as good! But I'm seriously contemplating getting this Garnier shade.

What are your recommendations? Have there been any products that work well? Any that failed completely? Stay tuned for hair updates!

Home Inspirations

Are you on Pinterest? Silly question, of course you are! I love the home decor ideas even though (for the time being) I have nowhere near the money or home to do all of that! It's nice to dream. Check out some of my inspirations and follow me @GinnyIsaad
